Born in Norfolk, VA
Bill Lester has known from his earliest years that he
wanted to be a lawyer and a litigator. Upon graduation from Emory Law
School, he immediately commenced his practice as a courtroom lawyer, and has
been a tireless advocate for his clients for almost 30 years. Bill’s
skills and experience allow him to drive his clients’ cases to their most
expeditious and successful results- whether by negotiation of a prompt and fair
resolution, courtroom advocacy, or both. Bill’s practice is focused on
civil and business litigation, domestic relations and family law, personal
injury, and workers’ compensation.
Bill’s education includes an undergraduate
history degree from Tulane University, in New Orleans, Louisiana, with Junior
year study in London, England, and a Juris Doctor degree from Emory University
School of Law, in Atlanta, Georgia. While in law school, he clerked for
the late Honorable Joel J. Fryer in the Superior Court of Fulton County,
Georgia. Bill began his trial and litigation practice in DeKalb County,
Georgia and quickly immersed himself in the community and local Bar Association,
becoming a Board Member of the DeKalb Bar Association and serving in executive
positions each year until becoming President in 1990-1991, at which time the Bar
Association received numerous awards from the State Bar of Georgia.
Bill Lester is a member of the Federal Bar Association,
the State Bar of Georgia, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Lawyers
Club of Atlanta, the Cobb County Bar Association, the DeKalb Bar Association and
the City of Atlanta Bar Association. He is married, has two children, and
remains actively involved in the metropolitan Atlanta community. His
interests include travel, gardening and cooking.
